Louis Moscardi, Physical Therapist

Louis Moscardi, MPT graduated from California State University, Fresno in 2002 with a Masterís degree in Physical Therapy. His undergraduate work was also completed at Fresno State, where he earned a Bachelor of Science in Kinesiology with an emphasis in Exercise Science.

While attending school, he was employed at Community Hospital, Leon S. Peters Rehabilitation. He provided physical therapy to patients with spinal cord injuries, brain injuries, and to patients with cerebral vascular injuries. Louis then took a position with St. Agnes Medical Center where he worked inpatient and outpatient physical therapy. It was in this setting where he received extensive training on the rehabilitation of joint replacements for the knee, hip and shoulder. He completed his graduate courses with an internship in Fresno, California. The focus in this clinic was manual techniques used by the physical therapist to effectively treat patients after surgery. Upon moving to the central coast Louis took a position in an outpatient physical therapy setting where he continued to provide excellent clinical care. In 2004, Louis opened Moscardi Physical Therapy in the Pismo Medical Campus.

Raised in Santa Maria, Louis returned to the central coast to start a family with his wife Nanci and their daughters Avari and Skylar. Louis is extremely pleased to offer personal, quality care to the individuals who live here. His passion and dedication to the profession offers patients a positive rehabilitation outcome so they can return to work, to play and to live successfully. Louis continues to expand his knowledge and expertise in the field of physical therapy by completing post graduate courses in Manual Therapy.

Makenzie Heisdorf, Physical Therapist

Makenzie Heisdorf, DPT started working for Moscardi Physical Therapy in 2006. She graduated from California State University, Fresno in 2002 with a Masterís degree in Physical Therapy. She completed her undergraduate degree at Fresno State where she earned a Bachelor of Science in Kinesiology with an emphasis in Exercise Science. Makenzie completed her Post Professional Doctorate in Physical Therapy at Western University of Health Services in Pomona in May 2009. In 2013, she added to her extensive knowledge in physical therapy by becoming a certified trainer for the TRX system (Total Body Resistance Exercise).

Makenzie has been working full-time as a physical therapist here on the central coast since 2002. She continued to broaden her education by completing several courses offered by professionals in the field of physical therapy. These include gait analysis, spinal rehab, manual therapy for the extremities, and vestibular rehabilitation to improve balance.

Makenzie and her husband have recently started a family and have two beautiful daughters. While pregnant she did extensive research on exercise for pre and post partum women which she developed into a successful exercise program.

We are extremely pleased to have Makenzie join us here at Moscardi Physical Therapy. Her professional and caring attitude as well as her extensive knowledge in the field of womenís physical health has made her a wonderful addition to our facility.
